This Week - Shane Schedler
How's it going ya'll! Shane here, updating everyone on our latest news and happenings going on with the band and our newest recording (The Ashtray Sonatas). Well, the new album has gone through the final stages of mixing with our most excellent and one of the most experienced sound engineers in Toronto, Andi Charel. He has been very busy of late putting the final stamps of approval on this recording. I must tell everyone at this point that this cd is simply the best songs Decibel have written and recorded to date. The mix of styles and sounds and techniques we used is astonishing, Brent has certainly come into his own, with his role as lead singer and has comfortably moved out front to sing, (of course with his guitar blazing as well).
Currently, we are putting the finishing touches on our unplugged show which all members have been working hard at. By the time you read this - we will have already opened for the Joys at the Lancaster Tavern on Lancaster St. in Kitchener, and we will be playing some of the new songs unplugged for the first time. |

Again, many thanks to Diane for her support and of course the pickanik baskets she made for the boyz while mixing, (except for the egg salad sandwiches) .... don't ask !!
Thanks baby !! Rock the earth!!!

Fan Feedback
At 56 yrs. old I've heard and seen a lot but I must say it's been a long time since I've heard anything like this! ......... Bravo ! I'm really looking forward to the second disc. Hope to get out to see you this summer. I live in Thornhill just north of T.O., so I'm not that far away. I'm going to spread the word!
Regards,
Reid Nisbet
Thanks for the nice words Reid, and thanks for buying our 1st cd! Watch for live Decibel gigs this summer. Dates will be posted on this site.
Cheers!!!

Hey Brent,
After loading the songs on my Ipod & listening to it for a few days while walking the dogs - I love it!! Quirky, fun, & some really cool playin'!!! ....when the chords kicked in followed by the harmony guitars (WHEW !) I kept listening & found even more killer guitar (& your brother sounds awesome - as usual!) & I started to think, shit!! - the vocals sound really strong - both the lead line & the harmonies, sounds as though you are gettin' more comfortable as a lead singer .... I just came back from walkin' my dogs & I listened to it 10 or 12 more times .... great !!
...I can hardly wait to hear more of the new stuff!!
Take care !
Rick Courtemanche

We also have a video ready to go for “Maybe Love” – plus 6 or 7 others videos as well. We’ll post all of them here - on this site - as soon as the new cd is out. Stay tuned . .

Brent
WOW how time flies! It seems like yesterday that you were with Helix, playing at Hammerjacks in Baltimore & hanging out after the shows !! Myself & a few other girls would meet you all at EVERY gig you played in the Washington DC & Maryland areas !! At one time, you & Darryl said we were like sisters to you !! . We had such a blast, I miss those days! Check out the picture !! Best memory for me is those laced up leather pants you used to wear !!
Anyway – love the new music!
Barbara Bryan
Thanks Barbara, looks like a good time to me? With any luck, we’ll be able to play Baltimore and other U.S. cities in the near future.
