This Week - Brent Doerner
Well, it's been a few weeks since I last did an update - so here goes...
I've been writing songs since November 2006 until just a few weeks ago. So I decided to take a break and get some stuff done around the house. We bought the house with a rotten cedar deck on the back - the previous owners had installed carpet on the deck - and left it on for 8 years?! Needless to say - that ruined it - completely. So Shane Schedler, Scraper Dave, my brother Carl and neighbor Bob helped tear down the old deck and remove it to the dump. Then, I built a new deck - with a round sort of shape on it.
Then Chris (the wife) decided we should have a patio installed under it - so that got done. The installer asked "where do you want the dirt?". We said "put it over there, we'll turn it into a water fall". So next thing was to build a waterfall - something I've never done before. It's not finished yet but I've sent along a photo of what's been done so far.
We've ordered 4000 lbs. of larger rocks, which should arrive tomorrow. Then it's more slugging. When it's done I'll go back to song writing - something I'm looking forward to. Enough of this grunt work - it's been weeks and I'm ready to rock - not real rocks, music rock!!
