This Week - Brent Doerner
Well, well - wasn't that Helix cd release party a barn burner!! Thanks to Brian Vollmer and the boys for rockin' everybody's socks off - and the Planet Helix party was just what I expected - lots of old and new Helix fans from everywhere - and lots of press too. It was great to see everyone there again - including our website guru Ron Kingyens and Darlene. Sorry Darlene, I got mixed up, too many beerz I guess?! Thanks to Brian I have two interviews in the coming week on air - it should be fun.
I'm back to writing tunes again - new tunes include "All the Time - All the Action" - it's all about the messy social slide YouTube has taken us all into. The other tune is "Wedding Day" - it's just what it says.
Lyrics - "You are the main attraction - you got the sting I need - we got a chemical action - you got the sting I need". It could of been called - You got the Sting I Need - but I liked Wedding Day better. I can't decide? Hopefully it'll become a wedding anthem for all rockers - right after the vows.
I will be taking my vows September 1st with Christina - she's "the one." It doesn't get any better than this. Hmmm - maybe a good title for a song? I'm now 14 tunes deep into the planned cd - none of them are slow songs. All songs are rockers in some manner or another. I tried to write a slow song - but it just wasn't working for me - as of yet. Hey guru Ron - you rock!
